Lesson 4:
The Medical Doctor behind CraniYums
In the first 3 lessons we have talked about neurotransmitters and their role in the body. It seems clear
that if a dietary supplement could increase neurotransmitters, there would be significant advantages to the
function of the body. In this article we review the medical doctor who created CraniYums - a supplement
to help increase neurotransmitter levels.
Who developed the CraniYums supplements?
CraniYums were developed by Dr. Cheryle R. Hart, M.D. Dr. Hart is a 1984 graduate of the Mayo Clinic
and is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology as well as bariatrics, the specialty of
medical weight management. She held appointments as associate clinical professor of medicine at the
Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota and the University of Washington School of Medicine.
She is currently the medical director of the Wellness Workshop in Spokane, Washington, a preventive
health and weight loss clinic, having treated over 5000 weight loss patients since 1996. She and her
clinic were featured in the September 2002 Time magazine cover story on weight loss in America.
She co-authored the best selling diet book, The Insulin-Resistance Diet and is currently completing
her book on neurotransmitter precursor therapy. She is a frequently requested national speaker,
radio and television guest and co-hosted her weekly health talk radio program, Hart of the Matter.
In short, Dr. Hart is a well known and well respected medical doctor. She would not risk her reputation by
producing an ineffective supplement.
Wow, sounds impressive, but does it really matter who makes a supplement?
Yes, yes and yes! Dietary Supplements do not need prior approval from the FDA, this means anyone can
make and sell a dietary supplement. This scares us, as many companies making supplements are marketing
companies in for the quick buck, and not scientists or doctors. We feel it is a major advantage if the
company that produces a supplement has a well known, and well trusted medical doctor in charge.
In addition, finding the exact right ratios of ingredients to produce maximum neurotransmitter response
requires some trial and error. Dr. Hart has treated over 5,000 weight loss patients in her clinic, so she
has the ability to try different formulas and see the results. This gives CraniYums a huge competitive
advantage over any other neurotransmitter precursor on the market.
What is unique in how Dr. Hart formulated the CraniYums supplements?
Here are some of the reasons that CraniYums stands head and shoulders above other neurotransmitter supplements:
- Double Blind, Placebo Controlled studies were done with CraniYums
(we will look at these studies
in Lesson 5)
- Patent-pending formulas developed by a medical physician
- Direct, immediate delivery to the brain through the oral membranes (sublingual) improves
symptoms faster and at lower doses than pill form supplements.
- Sublingual absorption minimizes stomach and intestinal upset commonly experienced with
capsule or tablet forms.
- USP and equivalent pharmaceutical grade products guarantee purity, dose, and potency.
- Delicious tasting lozenges do not affect blood sugar levels and are safe for diabetics. Does
not promote dental decay.
This all sounds great, but where is the proof that CraniYums works?
As they say, the proof is in the clinical studies! In Lesson 5 we look at the clinical
studies that have been done on CraniYums...
